Thursday, March 12, 2020; I was at the Left Coast Crime conference (my first ever book festival), doing author speed-dating (so fun!) and sitting on a culinary mystery panel (so cool!) when I wasn’t meeting other mystery authors and browsing their books. We suddenly learned that the city of San Diego was closing the entire conference and everyone had to leave. My husband and I scrambled to change our airline tickets and I packed up all my unsold books.
We flew home – that was before we all understood what was happening, before anyone wore masks. Then, like everyone else, we went into hibernation.
Let’s just forget most of 2020 – hope you all stayed healthy!
